Our Board Of Trustees…

The Board of Trustees is a team of volunteers made up of the Chair, Treasurer, Group Lead Volunteer and parents of our current and former young people in the Group. We work together to make sure the Group is run safely and legally, enabling our volunteers to deliver fantastic programmes that give young people skills for life.

Trustees are elected at our Annual General Meeting and serve for a period of 3 years

The Board’s main responsibilities are the general management of the Group which include:

  • Maintenance and upkeep of Group property, repairs to buildings, equipment and transport owned by the Group.
  • Fundraising
  • Managing the Group’s finances
  • Managing our Governance
  • Ensuring we meet Charity Commission requirements
  • Organising the Annual General Meeting which is held in May/June of each year

Ideally, we would like to see at least one parent from each of the Group sections as Board members. In this way we can ensure that each Section has a representative to look after its interests and also to encourage new ideas and opinions on the running of the Group. If you are interested in joining the board, you can discuss it with the Chair or Group Lead Volunteer.

The Board normally meet on the second Monday of every month.
