Our Board Of Trustees…

Our Board of Trustees is the group of people who support the Lead Volunteer in meeting his responsibilities in managing the Group.

The Board, is made up of the Chairman, Treasurer, Lead Volunteer and parents who have volunteered to help in the running of the Group their children are part of, or have been part of, which is the case with several of our current members. These are elected at our Annual General Meeting  for a period of 3 years

The Board’s main responsibilities are the general management of the Group which include:

  • Maintenance and upkeep of Group property, repairs to buildings, equipment and transport owned by the Group.
  • Fund Raising
  • Administering Group funds
  • Managing our Governance
  • Ensuring we meet Charity Commission requirements
  • Organising the Annual General Meeting which is held in May of each year

Ideally we would like to see at least one parent from each of the Group sections as Board members. In this way we can ensure that each Section has a representative to look after its interests and also to encourage new ideas and opinions on the running of the Group.

Our Board of Trustees is currently made up of the following members:

Adam Barrett
Chairperson

Dennis White
Trustee
Mick Judd
Group Scout Leader

George Reubens
AGSL+Treasurer

Viv Cruickshank
Membership Secretary
Chris Quinney
Trustee

The Board normally meet the second Monday of every month.

It is important to have a mix of parents on this Committee to represent the children across the Group. Anyone interested in joining should discuss it with Mick Judd.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
